General
The idea behind the PEC Sweetfilter® II is
to provide a localized source of odor
control for residential and commercial vents. High efficiency
chlorine dioxide (ingredients have been determined to be safe for general use... click here for GRAS documentation) and media
canister type absorbers are mounted on
the roof vent. Foul air passes through
the absorber and odors are removed by
the ox gel mix.
Operational
Features
- Sweetfilter II Filter continuously
cleans circulation air and includes oxgel pellets bag.
- Canister easily slides onto roof
vent.
- Design allows capture of specific gas molecules such as: Ammonia, aldehydes, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ethylene, hydrogen sulfide, ketones, and mercaptans among others.
- REGENERATION: Chlorine dioxide ox gel pellets requires periodic replacement.
Description
- Air intake grille (A) = 4.25 inches I.D.
- Chlorine dioxide ox gel canister (B)= 4.6 inches O. D.
- Roof vent pipe coupling connection
(C) = 4.50 inches I.D.(invert allows for 2" insert of existing vent stack)
- Overall length (D) =6.0 inches
- Media fill (1lb), ship weight 3.5 lbs.
Safety Tips
- DO NOT store or expose unit to any
source of direct heat such as radiators
or heat vents.
- DO NOT expose unit to any
inflammable liquids/gases as unit will
rapidly absorb them diminishing unit
capacity
- DO NOT store units in an
unventilated area. Stored units will
produce strong odors during
storage.
- The unit should be operated
when the
building/vent temperature is between 60F
and 95F
- If the building/vent temperature is
below 60F ice may form on the air intake grille,
above 95F odor absorbtion is reduced.
Maintenance
- Annually inspect and clean the air
intake grille.
- Visually inspect the units after
inclement weater to insure proper
operation.
- Since ice/snow storms
can temporarily block the air
intake grilles interrupting normal air
circulation and because little or no
offensive odors are produced during the
winter seasons, it is recommended that
the canisters be removed and stored
during all winter seasons. Winter
storage will double the ability to absorb odors.
Installation
- Run water down all plumbing drains to insure water seals are full and working. Water seals dry out quickly in unused drains. We recommend that infrequently used drains recieve a quarterly application of www.bluesealliquid.com
- Keep the unit in the vertical
postion during transportation.
- Remove shipping covers from air intake
grilles (A) and on bottom of Vent
connections (C).
- Turn screw counter-clockwise on (C) place unit on vent
pipe
and turn screws clockwise until secure.

HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Hazard Summary: Sand-colored, granular solid with chlorine-like odor. This product contains corrosive
material absorbed onto an absorbent material. If soaked in water, the resulting solution may be corrosive
to the skin and eyes on contact. Do not mix with organic material or acids as an explosion could result.
- Potential Health Effects:
Eyes: May be corrosive.
Skin: May be corrosive to skin.
Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed. Can irritate the nose and throat.
Inhalation: May be irritating to eyes and respiratory tract.
- FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Immediately wash eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Lift upper and lower lids and rinse well
under them. Get immediate medical attention.
Skin: Wash off in flowing water or shower. If irritation persists, get medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove from exposure. If individual is not breathing, administer cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) and get immediate medical attention. If individual is breathing, but with difficulty,
get medical attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Immediately drink large quantities of water or milk. Get medical attention.
- FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flammable Properties: This product is non-flammable.
Flash Point: None.
Method Used: Not applicable.
Flammable Limits: Not applicable. Product is not flammable.
Extinguishing Media: Water fog. No dry chemical, CO 2 or halon.
Fire & Explosion Hazards: Although this product is not combustible, soaking it in water and allowing it
to evaporate can leave a residue that is an oxidizer. Solutions can react with acids and organic material to
liberate chlorine dioxide, which is an explosion hazard.
Fire Fighting Equipment: Wear full bunker gear including a positive pressure self-contained breathing
apparatus.
- ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Scoop up spilled dry material and place in an appropriate container for disposal. If the material is wet, the
spill area must be rinsed thoroughly, as a corrosive residue may remain. Do not allow spilled wet material
to evaporate to dryness.
- HANDLING AND STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place. Do not allow material to get wet, as a corrosive solution may result. Store
separately from acids, reducing agents, organic material such as solvents, fuel, wood (i.e., pallets) and
paper. Do not store in steel drums. After handling, wash hands with soap and water.
- EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Respiratory Protection: If dust appears in handling operations, wear a NIOSH approved respirator with
replaceable dust filters.
Skin Protection: Gloves are not normally necessary unless handling this material when wet. If wet, wear
impervious gloves.
- Eye Protection: If dust appears in handling operations, wear goggles or safety glasses.
Exposure Guidelines: PEL/TLV have not been established for the product as a whole.
