How does it work? Well, basically, your HAPPY BACTERIA begin overcoming some of the limiting conditions in your tanks. We have the indicators of wastewater strength actually reduced. Odors, if present, are eliminated. The amounts of grease that end up in your system to accumulate in the tank and lateral lines begin to soften as the bacteria reduce their presence. Organic sludge that has accumulated is also reduced. The lateral lines going to your drain field receive the benefits and any organic deposits also begin to disappear. These clogged lateral lines begin to open up, also increasing the efficiency of your system. They are utilized in the biological process; you started a biological engine that has certain requirements to function. PH improves, as a direct result of the improvement in the wastewater conditions. Pathogens are eliminated. Your system is functioning more toward the way it was designed to function, naturally.
WHAT IS A SEPTIC TANK?
A septic tank system consists of a large, watertight tank that receives wastewater from your home plumbing system. Water from your cooking, washing, showers, bath, laundry and toilets makes up your wastewater flow. The tank is followed by an underground drainfield, which consists of a network of perforated pipe or chambers for distributing partially treated water from the septic tank to the soil for final treatment and disposal. A rule of thumb amongst wastewater professionals will say a person will use 100 gallons of water per day.

After your septic system has been placed into service, the proper operation and maintenance of the system will insure continued efficient service and prevent premature replacement expense. The septic tank and drainfield are designed and installed to handle a calculated daily wastewater flow. If you continually exceed the design flow, the system will eventually overload and fail. The tank may receive more organic loading faster than it can effectively treat them, and the drainfield may become saturated from excessive water use.
